Petwell handles your pet's health information carefully and honestly. Here is exactly how, and what your rights are.
The safeguards behind every check.
Encrypted in transit and at rest
Your pet data, health notes, and profile are encrypted with TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest. Nothing moves unprotected.
Strict access controls
Only the parts of Petwell that need your data to do a specific job can read it. Access is scoped, logged, and reviewed.
Isolated data storage
Your data lives in an isolated store. No other Petwell user can see or reach it by any path.
Your data is never sold
We do not sell your pet data or any personal information, ever, to data brokers, advertisers, or any third party.
Export anytime
Download a complete copy of everything Petwell holds about you and your pets, in plain JSON, from Settings whenever you want.
Delete anytime
You can permanently delete your account and all your data from Settings. Deletion is real and complete.
How AI providers handle your data.
Photos not retained
Photos are not kept after a check.
Processing under data agreements
When Petwell sends a description or photo to an AI model to read, that data goes to the provider under a data processing agreement. The provider processes it only to fulfil your request.
Your data does not train public models
Petwell's agreements with AI model providers prohibit your pet's health data from being used to train or improve any public foundation model. What you share stays yours.
Photos not retained after a check
Photos you add to a check are used only for that check. They are not stored on our servers after the check completes. We do not build a photo library of your pets.
Minimum necessary data
Petwell sends only the context needed for the specific task, not your full history. We share the minimum needed to do the job.
Subprocessors
We maintain a current list of every vendor that may process your data. If that list changes in a material way, we update this page and notify you.
Export and delete on your terms.
You can download a complete JSON export of your pet health data, notes, and profile from Settings at any time. You can also permanently delete your account and all associated data. Deletion is permanent and complete: we do not keep hidden copies. See Your data for a plain-language walkthrough.
A Pre-Seed company, being honest about where we are.
Petwell is a Pre-Seed company. We do not claim certifications we have not earned. We are working toward SOC 2 readiness and will update this page as that progresses. The protections described here, encryption, access controls, isolated storage, and data processing agreements, are real and in place today. Petwell is not a medical device and does not claim clinical authority.
Data residency
Petwell stores and processes data in the United States. If you are outside the United States, your data is transferred to the US under appropriate transfer mechanisms.
Responsible disclosure
If you find a security issue in Petwell, please tell us before disclosing it publicly. Write to security@petwellget.com with a description of the issue and steps to reproduce it. We will respond promptly, work with you to understand and address it, and credit you if you would like.
