This Cookie Policy explains how Petwell Inc. ("Petwell", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies when you use our website and app.

The short version: we use only the cookies we need to make Petwell work securely. We do not use cookies for advertising. We do not share cookies with ad networks or data brokers.

Cookies are small text files that a website or app stores on your device. They are read back when you return to the site, so it can remember things like whether you are signed in.

We also use similar technologies, including session storage and local storage in your browser, for the same purposes. This policy covers all of them.

We use three categories of cookies, all minimal and all necessary for Petwell to work correctly.

Essential and session cookies keep you signed in and your account secure. Without them, you cannot use the Petwell app.

• Authentication session: a secure, HttpOnly cookie that keeps you signed in during your session. It expires when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.
• CSRF protection: a cookie that prevents cross-site request forgery. It is created alongside your session and deleted when your session ends.

Preference storage: we use browser local storage to remember lightweight interface preferences, such as whether you have dismissed a one-time notice. This does not identify you and is stored only on your own device.

Minimal analytics: we collect aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to understand how features are used and where the app can improve. These analytics do not identify you individually and are not linked to your pet health data.

You can control cookies using your browser settings. Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies. Here is how to reach those settings in common browsers:

• Chrome: Settings / Privacy and security / Cookies and other site data.
• Safari: Settings / Safari / Advanced / Website Data.
• Firefox: Settings / Privacy and Security / Cookies and Site Data.
• Edge: Settings / Cookies and site permissions / Cookies and site data.

If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in to Petwell. Other than that, blocking cookies has no effect on your ability to read public pages of our site.

We do not participate in cookie-based advertising networks. We do not place tracking pixels. There are no advertising cookies to opt out of on Petwell.

Some functionality on Petwell involves third-party services that may set their own cookies. These are limited to:

• Payment processing: if you visit a checkout page, our payment processor (Stripe) may set cookies needed to process the transaction securely. Stripe's own privacy and cookie policy governs those cookies.

We do not embed social media share buttons, ad networks, or other third-party widgets that would set cookies without your awareness.

We will update this policy if our cookie practices change in any meaningful way. We will post the updated policy with a new effective date.
